 Message from the Prez

It is getting closer to the riding season so start thinking of SAFETY first. Here is something I found for the 1800: Dragon Lights for the end of your handle bars. They hook up to your signal/brake lights. It’s just another way to be seen.  Prez Ken

Club News

  • Happy Birthday to Sue Kaneski and Gary Schneekloth!
  • The State Mixer will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Little Falls VFW! The Theme is “Welcome to HollyWING”! Have you found a costume yet? Costumes are not required but it will make it more fun if we have lots of guests in costumes!  EVERYONE will receive a celebrity gift bag when they come to the Winter Mixer! Fun, surprises, and gifts for all! See the separate flyer in the newsletter or on the web site for registration for the Winter Mixer. Registration deadline is February 9th. Send in your registration today! Members from visiting chapters will be eligible for a special door prize! We still have room for many more to attend! Get warmed up and mixed up at the State Mixer!
  • All members who own a GL 1800/A should have received an important safety recall notice in the mail. Honda has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 2001 to 2010 and 2012 model year GL 1800/A motorcycles. Under certain conditions there is a possibility that the combined braking system’s secondary master cylinder may cause the rear brake to drag. Unexpected braking increases the risk of a crash, and riding the motorcycle with the rear brake dragging may generate enough heat to cause the rear brake to catch fire. The letter states what to do to get the defect repaired for free. The Safety Hotline number is 1-888-327-4236 or go to http://www.safercar.gov.
  • An estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year. Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. (Men must give candy, flowers, & gifts instead of cards!)
