PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE From Chuck:

Our ride for the month is to Grand Rapids for the Mississippi Melody with the Sandbergs. This event takes place in an open air amphitheatre on the banks of the Mississippi and has been performed for 40 years. On the way north we will visit the Forest History Center and have dinner before the show.

In August the Second Annual Great Minnesota Wings Get Together will take place on the 13th - 15th in Detroit Lakes at the Country Inn and Suites, 1330 Hwy 10E, Detroit Lakes. The registration fee is $25 and starts at noon on Friday. Go to the Minnesota Wings Newsletter, www.mnwings.com, for complete details.

The Fall Ride is scheduled for three days over the second weekend in September. Although the departure time has not been set it will be on Friday morning after the morning rush hour. We will spend Friday on the road riding. It’s still not too late to make your room reservations. The ride committee has spent a lot of time on the routes so it is an event not to be missed. If you have any questions, please contact Herb, Brian or Howie.

EVENT SCHEDULE: * Ride Point: one block east of Hwy 65 on 93rd Lane N.E. behind the post office.

July 4th, Sunday, Sandberg’s Independent’s Day Orphans Pot-Luck Pool Party for those who don't have another place to be. Bring a dish to share. 1:00 until it ends......

July 6th, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night ride. Ride Leaders: Todd & Deb Schneider.

July 10th, Saturday 9:00 a.m. Star West Honda Ride. Meet at Star West Honda in Delano at 9:00 a.m. for coffee and treats and a short pre-ride meeting. Departure time is 9:30. These are three hour country rides and we stop along the route for a stretch break. When we return to Star West, it's time for a free BBQ about 12:30 p.m.

July 13th, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. Monthly Meeting at Billy's Bar & Grill, 214 Jackson St., in Anoka, MN. Come early and join us for dinner. The ride following the meeting will be led by Howard and Jeanie Towle

July 20th, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night ride. Ride Leaders: Herb & Linda Letourneau

July 24th and 25th, Saturday and Sunday, Mississippi Melodie, Grand Rapids. Ride Leaders: Jim and Margaret Sandberg. Leave the Ride Point at 7:00 a.m. Visit to the Forest History Center in the afternoon and the performance on the Mississippi in the evening. Sunday morning we will ride scenic roads back to Minneapolis.

July 27th, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday Night Ride. Ride Leader: Larry Kelly.

July 31st , Saturday Day Ride , 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Coffee, donuts, Day Ride and free lunch at the Hitching Post, 3050 Coon Rapids Blvd. Coon Rapids MN 55433. The ride will start at 11:45 a.m. and be anywhere between 1 and 2 hours long. The ride may circle back to the Hitching Post or may just end "out and about" depending upon the leader.
