CLUB NEWS

Okay, who stole Summer? I mean really where did it go? As you are reading this the State Fair is wrapped up (Boo-Hoo) and School is starting soon (Yeah). I hope you had time to take a Motorcycle Vacation or at least a day or two to wander around this great country of ours.
So what did we do in August?

Hat Run- We rode, we ate, we rode some more. Can life get any better than this? We had 6 bikes leave the South ride Point at 8:00 AM, picked up a couple of strays at Tobies and met up with the Twin Ports folks a little south of Cloquet. As the ride leader I have to apologize for getting to Gordy’s late. Sure it was only 4 minutes late, but I try to be punctual. Food at Gordy’s was excellent as usual. Dave Limmer from Twin ports led us thru Jay Cooke State Park (which is now repaved and gorgeous). We backed road-ed to the interstate and then we all went our separate ways.

Rockies Rally- We rode, we ate, we camped, we ate, rode some more and of course ate some more. The biker buffet was as always excellent. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t attended this event to try it next year. Not a camper? The camping cabins are the best of both worlds.

Star West Ride- Mike Guari attended this event and reported it was well worth going to. We’ll have to add this one to the 2009 Ride Schedule.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Davis Rally- (September 4-7) This is the grand-daddy of rallies in our area. Vendors galore, great roads to ride, great food and excellent fellowship. We have members heading down Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Call Tim or Bruce if you want to ride down with someone. Or if you don’t want to stay overnight, New Hampton isn’t that far for a one day trip.

Highway Clean-up (September 20th) Meet at the Big Steer on I-35 (Northfield) at 8:00 AM. Usually takes about 2 hours. We do this as a remembrance of fallen fellow riders.

So Long Summer Campout- (September 26-28) Cannon Falls Campground. Eat, Sleep, Ride, Repeat. We’ll have Stein House fish Fry Friday night, all day ride on Saturday and Dinner at Treasure Island. Contact Bruce if you have any questions.

Tuesday Night Rides- West September 2nd Dean Tiffany South September 16th Open West September 30th Open Note: Tuesday Rides leave at 7:00 PM Sharp.
If you are interested in leading an open ride, please contact Johnny Johnson.
